We at Hringekjan have found the answer in an exciting collaboration with KRHA, designer Kristrúna Rut Hassing Antonsdóttir. Circle by Circle: History and Development of the Project

The "Hring eftir hring" project is based on the idea of ​​reusing clothing in new and creative ways. This is not the first step in this direction; we have previously collaborated with artists such as Jón Sæmund (Dead) and seamStress (Isabelle Bailey) to take recycling and sustainability in clothing to the next level. The goal now is to create wearable works of art from clothing and accessories collected in the store, in collaboration with designers and artists. We are incredibly excited to see how this collaboration will blossom and what new paths it opens in the search for sustainable and repurposed fashion.

Kristrún Rut and KRHA: The Idea Behind the Brand

Kristrún Rut Hassing Antonsdóttir, a self-taught designer who recently started studying fashion design at the Iceland Academy of the Arts, is the driving force behind the label KRHA. She focuses on sustainability, recycling, and creative color combinations. Her goal is to give unused clothing a new life by creating unique and wearable pieces.

Hringekjan and KRHA: Collaboration on Sustainability

Hringekjan has partnered with Kristrún Rut to create 'Wearable Art' from clothing that would otherwise go to waste. In this collaboration, unused garments are repurposed and transformed into artwork that draws inspiration from modern t-shirts and bohemian fashion.

The pieces go on sale September 21st, but each garment is unique and 100% recycled from materials that fell into Hringekjan, so you not only get new clothing, but you also contribute to a better environment.

Take the day off and check out the event on Thursday, September 21st between 5 and 8 pm. To celebrate the collaboration, there will be a fun event between 5 and 8 pm in our store at Þórunnartún 2.

The event is also part of our concert series Hringekjan Live Sessions, with DJ Mama Gunz providing the music, and the concert will be the 59th in the series. Light refreshments will be provided by Ægirbrugghús.
