In the nearly three years since Hringekjan opened its doors in January 2020, it has hosted regular music events under the name Hringekjan Live Sessions. In this short time, Hringekjan has created a stage for a diverse group of impressive artists, both domestic and international, and created a unique musical environment for city residents and visitors. A different musical experience and innovation has been the concept behind these events, and has become one of the store's landmarks.

Hringekjan recently received a grant from the Rannís Technology Development Fund, which will support an exciting project that explores new ways to connect music, technology and society. We at Hringekjan are really pleased with this recognition and hope to be able to further transform the city's musical and cultural life with this support from Rannís, says Davíð Örn Jóhannsson, co-owner of Hringekjan.

Hringekjan is not only a venue for music, but also an eco-friendly circular clothing and accessories store that creates a special connection between music, design, eco-friendly activities and community. We are located in the heart of Reykjavík, at Þórunnartún 2, and offer a warm welcome and a cozy environment where recipients can reduce their carbon footprint and bring their unused clothes round after round and receive a share of the sales. In the opening year of 2021, we were recognized as the best newcomer in the Second-Hand store category by Reykjavík Grapevine, and now in the year 2022 and 2023 we have proudly received the title of the Best Second-Hand store in Reykjavík, which shows that small initiatives like Hringekjan can really impact society.

Now is the time to celebrate this exciting milestone, and what could be better than to do it with music? Next Saturday, October 14th, Hringekjan will hold its sixtieth concert in the Hringekjan Live Sessions series. This time, it is none other than Teitur Magnússon, who is celebrating this milestone with us. He is passionate about vinyl records and he will play his favorite albums for us on this fun day, says Jana Maren Óskarsdóttir, co-owner of Hringekjan.
